Memory Verse of the Week
Galatians 3:19-22
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

From the Fathers:
St Gaudentius (4th Century) Tact. ii to Neophytes
The Lord saith: Except ye eat my Flesh and drink my Blood, ye shall not have life. For he willed that his benefits should endure among us: he willed that souls should ever be sanctified by the imaging of his own passion. And, therefore, he commandeth his disciples, whom he appointed the first priests of his Church, to celebrate continually these mysteries of eternal life; and they must be celebrated by all priests in every one of the Churches of the whole world, that having daily before our eyes the Exemplar of Christ's Passion, and bearing it in our hands, yea, and taking it in the mouth and the breast, we may hold in indelible remembrance the work of our redemption.
